Day 1. Delhi - Bagdogra -
Darjeeling
Arrival by flight from Delhi at Airport Bagdogra.
From the hot flatlands of India we soon climb up
the steep Darjeeling hills. We drive through tea
gardens along the toy-train-track to Darjeeling.
Overnight in hotel. |

Day 2. Darjeeling
In case of clear weather we get up early in the
morning and drive to Tiger hill to see the
sun-raise. Back in Darjeeling we walk down to
Bhutia Busty, where we visit the monastery and
enjoy a meal of Mo-Mos, a Tibetan/Sikkimese
specialty. Afterwards we visit the Tibetan
Refugee Center and a tea garden. Overnight in
hotel. |

Day 3. Darjeeling - Gangtok
Drive to the capital of Sikkim. We visit the
palace chapel and explore down-town Gangtok.
Overnight in hotel. |

Day 4. Gangtok
Drive up to Tashi View Point followed by a visit
at Enchey monastery. Drive down to Deorali where
we visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and
Do-Drul Chörten. Also visit 'Flower Show' where
bred and wild orchids are exhibited. |

Day 5. Gangtok -
Pemayangtse
Drive to West-Sikkim and visit Pemayangtse
monastery with its unique wooden carving
demonstrating the various spiritual realms
according to Buddhism. Overnight in hotel. |

Day 6. Pemayangtse -
Gangtok
On the way back we stop to see the ruins of
Rabdentse, the former capital of the kingdom of
Sikkim. Overnight in hotel. |

Day 7. Gangtok - Rumtek -
Gangtok
Daytrip to Rumtek monastery followed by drive to
Martam, an idyhllic village nestled in the midst
of teraced paddy fields. Overnight in hotel.
Gangtok - Puntsholing (Bhutan)
Via West-Bengal we reach the border town
Puntsholing in Bhutan. We register our passports
and receive our visas for Bhutan. |

Day 8. Puntsholing -
Thimpu
A beautiful mountain-road brings us to Thimpu,
the capital of Bhutan.
We visit the National Library, the indigenous
Hospital as well as the monastery Zulakha. In
the afternoon we go to see the Painting School
and Thimphu Post. |

Day 9. Thimpu - Punakha
(Distance: 71 km: Duration: 3 h)
In the morning we visit the traditional paper
factory, the Memorial Chörten as well as the
Tashicho Dzong. In the afternoon we drive to
Punakha |

Day 10. Punakah
Visit Punakha Dzong and the old and new town of
Punakha. In the afternoon we drive to Chimmi
Lhakhang and the town of Wangdue where we visit
Wangdue Dzong. |

Day 11. Punakha - Bumthang
(Distance: 197 km; Duration: 7 to 8 h)
Drive to Bumthang. On the way halt at Pelela
Pass. Lunch in Tongsa. See Tongsa Dzong and on
the way to Bumthang stop to see the weaving
factory Yatra. |

Day 12. Bumthang
Today we visit Jakar Dzong, Kurje monastery,
Jamphel monastery and Tamshing monastery. In
addition visit at the Swiss Farm where cheese,
apple juice and brandies are produced. Finally,
before returning to our hotel we visit the town
of Chomkahr. |

Day 13. Bumthang - Punakha (Distance: 197 km;
Duration: 7 to 8 h)
After breakfast we drive to Punakha. On the way
we visit Ta Dzong in Tongsa and have lunch
there. |

Day 14. Punakha - Paro (Distance: 144 km;
Duration: 4 to 5 h)
Drive to Paro. Lunch in Thimphu or Paro. |

Day 15. Paro
Visit the National Museum and Paro Dzong. Free
time in Paro town. |
|

Day 16. Paro - Delhi
Transfer to the Airport of Paro. Flight to
Delhi. |
